Q: What is a welding workshop?

A: The welding workshop is a hands-on class where participants learn basic mig welding, and craft a steel art project. It’s a fun, creative way to explore basic welding techniques and create a unique keepsake.

Q: Do I need prior welding experience?

A: Not at all! This workshop is designed for beginners. Our instructors will guide you through every step to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Q: What is the age requirement for the workshop?

A: Participants must be at least 10 years old. Under 14 will require a parent/guardian to be present for the entirety of the workshop. Anyone under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver.

Q: How long does A workshop last?

A: The workshops typically run for about 1-2 hours, depending on the type of class, the size of the group, and individual progress.

Q: What should I wear to the workshop?

A: For safety, please wear:

-Hair tied back if it’s long.

-Long sleeves and pants (natural fibers like cotton are best).

-Closed-toe shoes.

-A Cotton Bandana or beanie

We’ll provide safety gear, including welding gloves and helmets.

Q: Is the workshop safe?

A: Yes, safety is our top priority. We provide all necessary safety equipment and ensure that participants receive proper instruction on welding techniques and safety protocols.

Q: Can I book a private group workshop?

SLC, UT: Yes, we offer private workshops for groups*. It’s perfect for team-building events, parties, or just a fun night out with friends. Contact us to set up your custom class.

*IF you are booking outside of Salt Lake city, UT, we will only be able to accommodate your request based on availability for the dates we visit your city. Please reach out with any questions or inquiries.

Q: What happens if I can’t make it to my scheduled workshop?

SLC, UT: Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance, and we’ll do our best to reschedule you for a future class. Refunds are not guaranteed for last-minute cancellations.

Any workshops Outside of utah: – Due to the nature, time constraints, and costs involved in traveling to your city, we do not offer any refunds or cancellations. you are free to give your booking to a friend, but we can’t refund any workshops that are hosted outside of slc.

Q: Where are the workshops held?

SLC, UT: Workshops take place at our Sugar Metal Customs workshop, located at 916 W South Temple in downtown SLC. Parking is available on-site.

Any workshops Outside of utah: WE temporarily rent spaces such as galleries, warehouses, or other suitable spaces. Find your city on our booking page to see the location specific to you. if blank, we have yet to officially lock down a location, and will be in the process of solidifying one. we will update the booking page, and announce on social media with the location when possible. if no location is found by the date of your workshop, we will refund your booking.

Q: Can I bring food or drinks?

A: For safety reasons, food and drinks are not allowed in the workshop area. However, we have a designated area where you can take breaks if needed, as well as keep any personal items.

Q: Can I bring a friend?

A: Yes! if you would both like to receive welding instruction, please select the ‘add a friend’ while booking. This provides a discounted rate for two people to receive instruction, and work on a project together. If you would both like to work on your own separate projects, please book two separate spots.

Q: Are workshops ever canceled?

A: In rare cases, workshops may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we’ll notify you immediately and help you rebook or provide a refund.
